Privacy policy

By the Oasis Singles editorial teamUpdated · 3 min read

This notice covers www.oasissingles.com, the information website you're reading now. It does not cover the members area at members.oasissingles.com, where you create a profile, browse and message. That has its own privacy policy.

Who is responsible

This website is run by High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation (file no. 10670515), registered office 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA. High Intent Media Inc is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. To contact us about privacy, use the members help centre.

What this website collects

This is a static information site. It:

  • sets no cookies, of its own or anyone else's;
  • runs no advertising, analytics or tracking scripts;
  • has no comment forms, newsletters or accounts of its own.

Like any website, it has to be served from somewhere. It is hosted by Vercel, whose servers automatically log technical information when you visit a page: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for, and the time. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working, for example to deal with attacks or faults. Vercel handles them under its own privacy policy.

If you type your email into a join box

Some pages have a box where you can enter your email address to start joining. When you press the button, that address is sent straight to the members area at members.oasissingles.com/join so you can finish signing up. This website doesn't keep a copy. From that point, your data is handled under the members area privacy policy, which also explains how profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network.

Why we process this data

Hosting logs are processed because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and available. An email address you type into a join box is passed on because you've asked to start an account.

How long data is kept

This website keeps no personal data of its own. Hosting logs are kept by Vercel for a limited period under its policy. Data you give the members area is kept as its privacy policy describes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, such as the right to know what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it's used. These rights come from laws including Australia's Privacy Act 1988, the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and privacy laws in some US states, such as California.

To use any of these rights, contact us through the members help centre. If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact your local regulator:

Where you live Regulator
Australia Office of the Australian Information Commissioner
United Kingdom Information Commissioner's Office
European Union Your national data protection authority, listed by the European Data Protection Board
California California Privacy Protection Agency

Our guides link to official sources such as government agencies and helplines. Their privacy practices are their own; check their policies when you visit.

Children

This website and the members area are for adults. You must be 18 or over to join.

If we change how this website handles data, for example by adding a cookie or a new service, we'll update this notice and the date below before the change takes effect.
