What you get for free, and what you pay for
Looking is free; talking is paid. Signing up, writing your profile, adding photos and browsing other members cost nothing, and other members can show interest in you. A paid membership is what lets you read and reply to messages, and see who has liked or viewed you. The optional extras in the table are add-ons; you don't need any of them to use the site.
How Oasis Singles works explains each step, including the fact that profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network.
Before you pay: a quick checklist
Pay once you've seen people you'd actually like to talk to, within a distance you'd actually travel. A sensible order:
- Join and fill in your profile properly, with a photo and where you are.
- Browse for a week and see who's within your driving range.
- Check where people really live. Partner-site members may be further away than you expect.
- Note the renewal terms at checkout, and the billing name for your statement.
- Put the renewal date in your phone so the decision to continue is yours.
If you work FIFO or long swings, time your membership for when you're home and able to use it; our guide to dating with FIFO or shift work explains why.
Why the prices are in US dollars
Oasis Singles is run by High Intent Media Inc, a US company, and the members area charges in US dollars. Your bank or card provider converts each charge into Australian dollars at its own exchange rate, so the amount on your statement will move a little with the exchange rate. Some cards also add a fee for transactions in a foreign currency; your card's terms will say whether yours does.
To estimate the Australian dollar cost, take the US dollar price in the table, convert it at your bank's current rate, and add any foreign transaction fee your card charges. The members area shows the exact US dollar price before you confirm a payment.
What appears on your statement
The members area shows the billing name at checkout, before you pay, and it may not say "Oasis Singles". If you share a bank account, or simply like your statements to make sense at a glance, it's worth knowing that in advance. Renewals, trials and cancelling
Every membership renews automatically at the end of its period until you cancel, and a trial rolls into a regular membership in the same way. To stop it, go to Settings > Billing in the members area and cancel before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future payments; it doesn't delete your profile. To remove your profile entirely, click your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account.
Refunds are handled under the members area terms, which set out when a partial refund is possible. For anything billing-related, the help centre is the place to ask.
A charge you don't recognise
Check the members area first, then the help centre, then your bank:
- Look in Settings > Billing for the date and amount.
- Ask the help centre with the date, amount and the name on your statement.
- Talk to your bank or card provider if you still can't match it.
Payments to the old Oasis site
If you're checking an old charge from Oasis Active, the Australian site that closed in 2020, Oasis Singles can't help with it: that was a different business. Your bank or card provider is the right contact. Our log in help page explains why old accounts don't work here, and the key facts page lists who runs Oasis Singles and how billing works.
Questions people ask
Can I pay in Australian dollars?
Not at present. Prices are set in US dollars and your bank or card provider converts each charge into Australian dollars at its own exchange rate, so the amount on your statement can vary slightly. Some cards add a foreign transaction fee as well. The members area shows the exact US dollar price before you confirm anything.
Will I be charged again automatically?
Yes. Memberships and trials roll on until you cancel in Settings > Billing, so cancel before the renewal date if you don't want to continue. Cancelling stops future payments but doesn't delete your profile; to remove that as well, click your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account. Note your renewal date when you first pay.
What will my card statement show?
The members area shows the billing name before you pay, and it may not say Oasis Singles. If you see a charge you don't recognise, check Settings > Billing in the members area first, then contact the help centre with the date and amount. If you still can't match it, talk to your bank or card provider.
Do I need to pay for the extras?
No. Optional extras such as profile boosts and the ID-verified badge are add-ons. You don't need any of them to browse, and a standard membership is what lets you read and reply to messages. If you're not sure, start without them and see how you go.
