In short
Oasis Singles guides are written by the Oasis Singles editorial team using primary sources: government agencies, regulators, official helplines and organisations' own websites. Facts about places, clubs and events are checked against those sources and dated. We don't publish invented statistics, testimonials or member stories, and regional pages only go live once they have enough checked local detail.

Who writes the guides, and why they exist
The guides on this site are written and checked by the Oasis Singles editorial team. Oasis Singles is run by High Intent Media Inc and is a paid dating service, and the guides link to it. We'd rather say that up front than pretend to be independent.
What we aim for is a page you'd find useful even if you never joined: dating in a small town that understands small towns, safety advice with the right Australian reporting channels, and active date ideas that work outside the capitals.
Where our facts come from
Every external fact on this site comes from the organisation responsible for it, and is listed in the sources at the bottom of the page it appears on.
- Laws, scams and support services: the government agency, regulator or service itself, such as Scamwatch, the National Anti-Scam Centre, cyber.gov.au, healthdirect, state police and state legal aid services.
- Places, clubs, walks and events: the organisation's own website or the managing agency, such as a state national parks service or the club's official page. If we can't find an official source, we leave it out.
- Figures: only from a named, published source, with the period it covers.
- How Oasis Singles works: the members area and its terms. Prices come from one table that is kept up to date in one place, rather than being typed into individual pages.
How we handle safety, health and legal information
Australian rules and services differ by state, so we name the state when it matters and give the exact service and number. We quote emergency and support numbers from the service's own site: 000 for emergencies, and the national services such as 1800RESPECT, Lifeline and Scamwatch by name. First-aid and water-safety advice follows the official source (for example healthdirect or surf lifesaving guidance) rather than our own version of it.
We explain how things generally work, not what you should do in your particular case. For family law, money or health decisions, we point you to legal aid, a financial counsellor or a health service.
How we keep regional detail honest
Local pages are only worth reading if they're genuinely local. A regional page goes live only when it has enough checked detail to be useful: real walks, clubs, events and reporting contacts, each checked against its own website and marked with the date we checked. Until then, it isn't published.
Club times, event dates and track closures change, so we re-check regional pages at least every six months, and sooner when we hear something has changed. When we change a page, we update its date.
What we won't publish
- Invented statistics, quotes, testimonials, member stories or "success stories".
- Claims we can't support, such as member numbers or that profiles are checked. We review photos; we don't check what members write.
- Named authors, reviewers or "experts" who don't exist.
- Advice that depends on knowing your situation, such as legal or financial advice. Where that matters, we point you to the official service.
Example messages, dates or profiles are always labelled as examples.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the members help centre with the page address and, if you have one, a link to the official source. We check the point against the original source, correct the page and update its date. See contact for other questions, about Oasis Singles for who runs the site, or the key facts on one page.
Questions people ask
Are the guides advertising?
Oasis Singles is a paid dating service, and the guides link to it. We say so plainly rather than pretend to be independent. The guides are written to be useful whether or not you join, and the safety and reporting advice is the same advice we'd give if there were no site attached.
How do I report a mistake?
Tell us through the members help centre with the page address and what's wrong. If you have a link to an official source showing the correct information, include it. We check the point against the original source and, if it's wrong, correct the page and update its date.
Why aren't the regional pages live yet?
A regional page is only useful if it's genuinely local: real walks, clubs, events and reporting contacts, each checked against its own website. Until a page has enough checked detail to meet that bar, we keep it unpublished rather than fill it with generic advice that could apply anywhere.
Do you name the people who write the guides?
Guides are credited to the Oasis Singles editorial team. We don't use made-up author names or claim expert reviewers we don't have. Where something needs professional advice, such as legal, financial or health questions, we say so and point you to the official service.
